Gift Information

Type of Gift:

There are four gift types to choose from when making your gift online.

One Time Gift allows you to complete your gift immediately.

Monthly ongoing Gift allows you to set up a new monthly continuous gift, which can be changed or cancelled at any time.

Multi-Payment Pledges should be chosen if you wish to set up a new commitment to be paid over a designated period of time.

Amount:

For one-time gifts or multi-payment pledges simply enter the total amount of the gift.

When setting up an ongoing gift enter the amount that you would like to give per period (monthly, quarterly, or annually).

If you are making a payment on an existing pledge, enter the amount that you would like to pay at this time.

Gift Designation:

Supporting Engineerings Highest Priority allows the University to quickly respond to student needs and direct funds to projects and initiatives that are the most critical to our success. Alternatively, use the drop down to select one of Engineerings other key projects. 

If the area you would like to support is not listed, please choose ‘Other Projects’ from the and simply type in the project you would like to support.

 

Additional Information

Number of Installments:

Setting up multi-payment pledge requires you to choose a set number of installments, and the frequency that you would like them to occur. The system will automatically calculate the installment amount, based on your preferences.

Frequency:

If you have chosen to set up an ongoing gift or a multi-payment pledge, you will be prompted to choose the ‘frequency’ that you would like to make payments. You can choose to give monthly, quarterly or annually. Your ongoing gift or multi-payment pledge will start on the 1st of the next month, and any subsequent payments will occur on the 1st of the month following your requested frequency.

For international donors outside of Canada/US you may be required to select either '--'  for the province and enter 'N/A' for the postal code.

Any valid Mastercard, Visa, or American Express can be used. All funds will be processed in Canadian dollars.

Once your gift has been processed, you will receive a receipt via email within the hour. If you do not receive a receipt within one business day, please contact the Office of Advancement at 1-800-408-8715 or annualgiving@uwaterloo.ca.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

 

I live outside of Canada/US and I receive an error that my credit card is being rejected ? 

For international donors (eg. Hong Kong) that do not have a province or postal code, please try selecting either '--' for the province\state and enter 'N/A' for the postal code\zip code. 

I have not received my tax receipt by email ? 

It may take up to 30 minutes to receive your tax receipt via email. If you have not received your tax receipt by then, please contact us at the Office of Advancement  at 1-800-408-8715 or annualgiving@uwaterloo.ca.
